Mirror’s Edge (Digital Collages)

This short series was an experiment in inverting the methods of my practice. Here the moving images that comprise this phase of my work are taken out of space/time and frozen in a particular moment. The images are constructed from stills captured from video artifacts and animated structures [that are derived from the documentation of flowing water] layered over matrices of colored stripes, halftone patterns, and solid color planes that interact and interfere with one another to generate zones of contrasting form that are suspended in a state of movement akin to glass. The work appears as if any appreciable input of energy will launch the arrested system.
